Privacy & Data Handling
This page describes how the current C42 website handles information submitted through Forge, Build, and Join. It is intended to make the operating behavior visible; it is not a substitute for reading a future formal legal policy if C42 later adopts one.
What C42 stores
C42 stores the information you submit plus system metadata needed to persist, route, review, and audit the submission, such as visibility, reference/review identifiers, status, and timestamps.
Who can see a submission
- PUBLIC — may appear through public Forge interfaces when safe to display.
- LIMITED — stored for review; only a redacted safe display may be public.
- PRIVATE — Director review only and not exposed through public Forge browse/read interfaces.
- JOIN — Join requests are always PRIVATE.
Notifications
A successful submission may generate an owner notification so the request can be reviewed. This means submitted information may be included in the configured C42 notification workflow.
Retention and sensitive information
C42 does not currently publish a fixed retention period for website submissions. Do not submit passwords, access keys, financial account details, medical records, or other secrets through these forms.
Data requests
C42 does not currently provide an automated self-service deletion portal. To request review, correction, or removal of information you submitted, use Forge, choose QUESTION and PRIVATE, and title the entry Data request. Include the confirmation/reference ID when you have it.
